I have no idea how to play..

This is my first time playing on a private server, and I have downloaded a bunch of things off these sites, the classic wow, TBC, patches.. but when I open any type of client it auto goes to 4.0.
Can someone give me a step by step on how to do this? I'v looked at the help here but it doesn't make sense.

You probably opened Launcher.exe that's why the client forced you to update. Try opening Wow.exe instead.

Where is wow.exe? I went into my wow folder and when I open any of them it crashs, or says I have patch 4.0.3. How do I switch to 2.3, then open the game?

If you are on 4.x, you'll need to uninstall it and start the process all over again. You cannot downgrade a client.

Okay, do I delete everything and download the WoW + TBC + 2.4.3?

I would recommend downloading the pre-installed torrent (first link on downloads page) because you don't have to patch anything! You just set the realmlist and play.
