Hi, i'm new to playing TBC private servers and am currently very confused, When I open the game through the .exe file and type in my Username and Password i'm met with it saying I need to go to launcher and install patch. What to do? Sorry if this is in the wrong forum/sub-forum or anything like that.

I did not restart though, so am I fine?
EDIT2: Also, when I try to change the realmlist through notepad it says something about checking if it's opened on another program. So I can't save it. Help?
