The patches from the Updated Guide for US, are they still good? Please respond.

Why would they not be? As long as you installed a enUS client they should be fine.

I installed the one given while first entering the website.

The one on the site I think might be enUS, possibly enGB I don't entirely remember. However the patches it contains are compatible with the clients provided. So you shouldn't have any trouble patching with the ones provided in the torrent.
