Wsg flag debuff

I've used the search feature but couldn't find a post about it so i'll make this post to adress the issue.
As you all may very well know after carrying the flag in wsg for a set amount of time you will get a debuff (50% more dmg and normal speed ,doubled after a period of time).Problem is that even if you capture the flag/let go of the flag/die in the bg/leave bg and relog you cannot get rid of it.Only way to get rid of it I found is to join a 2v2 skirmish.It's really shit and gamebreaking in wsg when you still have a game to finish so meh...hope this gets solved in the near future.This bug was alive and well on the old Pineapple/WoTLK Smolderforge aswell.
