Lately I have noticed that Maim bugs, as in, it goes off, it makes the sound effect, you can see it clearly, and it goes on cooldown, but it doesn't stun them. I don't have a screen shot, but I was testing it out against my buddy and in his combat log it will show that he was hit by maim, but never stunned. I've actually only noticed this happening recently, within the last month or so, it has never occurred before that I could tell.
I don't know if this is something you guys can fix, but if it is within your abilities please do so, because it is infuriating and I cannot tell you how many fights I've lost because of it. It's an essential skill for feral and it must be reliant. Feral's need that ability to be reliable.

Maim doesn't stun in TBC.

@Judger I just wanted to point to the fact that this skill is not a stun (it is a stun in wotlk, perhaps pastbound is a wotlk player).

Always worked for me, and I'm playing on many ferals.

The problem might be Shattered Sun Pendant of Might. If you are Scryer, your Arcane Strike can proc of Maim and that damage instantly breaks incapacitate effect. That's why while Scryer's proc is awesome for ferals (because of ~50% chance to crit) it is better to remake your reputation to Aldor ;(

Firstly I'd like to point out that I used stun as a general term, I assumed the reader would of been intelligent enough to figure out what I meant...to clarify, yes Incapacitate. Secondly, no I'm not a Wotlk player.

Yes I am Scryer's, for a couple reasons:
-It is instant damage, meaning it doesn't rely on follow up damage to deal it. For instance, if a rogue pops evasion, and you get the Aldor proc (200AP) it is wasted because you can't utilize it without being able to hit them. Or if you get the Aldor proc right when a mage blinks, wasting time to travel over to them, or wasting time going to bear/charge due to global CD going back into cat...and then the mage ice blocks.

-Also due to high crit chance as a feral (51% currently with the trinket I have equipped) Scryer proc crits nearly every time. When it does it'll do anywhere between 600-750+ depending on opposing factors, i.e. their gear and how they are set up.
So you factor that in if I crit them for 2.6k and it procs. Thats at least 3.2k damage. Follow that up with another Shred crit, F-Bite finish. I 3 shot people in BG all the time this way.

To respond to your point though, I was wondering that myself and factored that in my testing as well. It would do it without the proc. Meaning, the proc wouldn't break it. Neither did any follow up damage that I noticed. Idk what's causing this to happen, but it becomes very detrimental to pvp gameplay.

@pastbound I agree with you about benefits of Scryer's proc, used it myself for a long time. But after Gnaar noticed this problem that I described above I had to reroll to Aldor. At first I didn't believe that Arcane Strike breaks Maim, but after a lot of testing we did any doubt left. I will try to test it again tho.

I may have worded what I meant inadequately. Arcane Strike does break maim. However what I'm saying is that the proc does not occur when I notice the maim bug. So thats not what is causing this issue.

@pastbound make sure your target doesn't take any kind of damage and you should be fine.
I'm aware follow up damage will break it. If I hadn't thought of that I wouldn't of gone so far as to make a forum post. There is some external factor causing this that I cannot figure out ( though, I'm not sure what it could be, I've tried everything) so this leads me to believe it must be a bug.
Even watched it on combat logs, maim does damage and clearly hits them however they took no following damage after that maim so nothing could of broken it. Thank you for the input.
