How to change your in-game password

There are two main ways to change your in-game password. One is through the online account manager, and second is the in-game via command. Both work fine, however the preference of which to chose is entirely your decision at your convenience.


Account Manager:

Probably the best method to use, simply login to our Account Manager with your in-game account and choose the option to change your in-game password. Pretty self-explanatory.


In-Game Command:

Login to any character on the account that you're wising to change the password of. Simply press enter and type the following command into the chat frame. (Just /say -- commands that are written to channels [/w, /1-4 etc] will not work and you will just end up saying your password to the public.)

.account password $oldpassword $newpassword $newpassword

$oldpassword = your current password
$newpassword = your new password that you will be using from now on, must be written twice in a row!
Do not write the $ sign, it is only shown here to properly show you the values!

So lets say your current password is 123 and you want it to be 456, here is an example of how to write the command!

.account password 123 456 456

Help! It says "passwords do not match!" What do I do?

This is a problem that affected a few OLD accounts over a period of time when password hashs were getting generated incorrectly for players. What that means is your password's hash (an encryption string, eg: d891m9al8m1291a2) got messed. You still can probably login to the game, however you cannot login to our account manager or change your password without getting this error.

In order to fix this your password needs to be completely reset, this can be done via an administrator or the best method, password recovery. Simply visit the account recovery page and recover your account. This will generate a new password for you to be able to log back in and change the password yourself without any trouble. We will not be able to assist those who have traded accounts as we do not support account sharing / trading. In addition we will not be able to assist you if you do not know the registered email address on the account.
