OKay, so recently after I gave up on hoping to get accepted by the staff for the GM post, I saw alot of racism, hating, server advertisting, scamming etc. on chat. So I have a suggestion how to improve the server - make the GMs get ingame more often , or get more GMs coz I just cannot put everyone on ignore list or leave the chat. I want to hear some discussions but not all this racism stuff.

Are you talking about the server advertising in the LFG now?

I took care of those both IP + account banned but they keep changing there IP and I keep banning them.

If we decided to parent the LFG channel our entire team would have to spend time doing that, and that only. It would be beyond difficult and near possible to enforce. If it disturbs you that much, please turn mature language filter on.

well the thing is , they dont talk in some "mature" language. But they keep on saying shit about arabs, romanians, russ, USA etc . And to that "Impossibility" its not impossible really. I have seen it on alot of servers. Its not so hard to just write his name in the kick / ban command....takes like 7secs.

Kicking is pointless, it simply causes people to come back online and say, "ShIT SAvArER I GoT D/Ced"

Issuing out suspensions/bans is too much for this. We'd lose 1/2 the server within a few hours. It would be a waste of time, piss a lot of people off, cause me to get tremendous amounts of tickets and emails to sort through, ban appeals, etc.

There was one time where we started enforcing chat rules and it was really detrimental. People were deliberately attempting to get each other suspended. I cannot IMAGINE the amount of reports we'd start getting with the Firstaidkit vs. everyone wars over LFG.


It's simply really pointless to do in the end, it won't really help the server either it'll just cause more problems in the long run. There is a line where things can go to far and we will intervene in those situations obviously, but simple petty offense comments is too minor for us to really spend time getting involved.

So your opinion is to just sit and watch ? I dont know much about people here yet. But everytime someone got banned for doin' sth wrong on the chat he might have QQed alittle first but then he became pretty calm. Well im not here to tell you what to do , im here just to ask for a little help with the racism and other stuff that shouldnt be on the chat. And if u only care about server population in numbers then sorry but I lost some respect to this thing. If u preffer server fighting eachother like mad, just because someone is russian or american or romanian. Then ok , and ill just dig a hole , delete my chat window, and just play.

Yeah, trolling is getting out of hand.

I'm not trying to say this behavior should be permissable, I'm simply saying through experience it usually causes more problems that it solves. We do not have a paid 24/7 staff to monitor chat, so many reports would be done, or simply "reported" without screenshots or anything. This would immediately become the most time-invested effort ever on Smolderforge. More than bug fixes, content development, and other support, but all of our time would be devoted to investigating, suspending, and enforcing chat rules.

As I said before, there are times where things go too far, and those are welcome to be reported to us. For example there was once a guild named something along the lines of <Down like twin towers> which immediately overstepped and was disbanded, and the guild creator was warned. Maybe suspended, I don't remember.

In addition, the LFG consists of many different languages so we would only be able to moderate mostly English. The entire process would simply be difficult to conduct.


So if you find something very offensive, etc. you are able to report it -- I never said that wasn't possible. We simply are unable to provide a 24/7 chat monitoring service on a free-to-play server.

Well there are certain things, that will get you banned irl with my fist in your face if you say them to me. For exaple all the stuff wow people say they are doing to my mother, family and so on. I really think those things should be punishable in wow too.
