Cross-faction battlegrounds

Hey all!
I just recently branched by going heretic on another private-server. In the broader sense it was much like this one, instant end-game with most of the gear to follow. One major difference was that the battlegrounds were cross-faction (i.e it was team vs team and not faction bound, so the teams were made up by both alliance and horde players). Since we have some faction balance issues around here I thought it would at least be something that would be worth posting in this section. And when I say that we have balance issues I'm not just talking about the ratio of population, but class and role issues as well. It's widely known that Horde outnumber Alliance by far, but on top of that Horde has a ridiculous amount of Rogues but a lack of healers. And the Alliance has an abnormal amount of restoration Druids and Warriors. Since almost everything else is cross-faction around here I personally think the pros outweighs the cons when it comes to BG's as well.
It would help balance the teams out, both in numbers and to some extent in roles/classes. On top of this it would make for smoother queues and further promote guilds and friends doing BG's with each other. Sure, the Alliance vs Horde aspect would be wiped off the table, but I don't think that's much of an issue here on Smolderforge. Most enmities here seems to be personal anyway, and not faction bound (except the few 12 year olds who yells various crap after they've won a BG). I mean we're all talking with each other anyway. And there's a lot of guilds/players out there who have players/characters from both factions.
When it comes to the coding aspect of this (or whatever you call it) I'm at a loss though. Don't know how much of an issue this would be to pull off. But I do know that it's possible and would at the very least be worth considering in our current situation.
Best regards, Cube.
