Re: SWP items
I'm more talking about about OS, Evocati. Passion is the oldest guild here but there is less active members (as I can mainly see on BGs).
There are less PvE mages and warlocks on the horde side, that's maybe why alliance and your friends aren't complaining a lot.

You must not have played retail at all, because everyone and their mother was in full S2 gear during season 4.Xaru wrote: Because on retail hardly anyone had full S2+ gear sets like they do here

Re: SWP items
I can personally guarantee you Xaru that the system will not break the Shockadin spec. Yes you will have to switch some pieces of sunwell to pvp gear to avoid the penalty, but you will still be able to use more pve items than pvp. This is not the end of pve gear in pvp.
Switch in a resilience libram macro, swap out a few items. You will trade some damage for higher survivability. TBC was not designed for a single class to gib another class inside the space of a few seconds. The shockadin spec will still have many strengths:
1: Damage that ignores armour and resistances
2: Vindication
3: Offhealing
4: Longetivity (with spiritual attunement)
5: Defensive dispells
6: Survivability
7: Very high burst and moderate sustained damage
8: Blessing of Sacrifice
Would it not honestly be fun to be able to play to your other strengths, rather than playing the "I one shot you, you one shot me game that smolderforge has become"? We will be introducing 3v3 soon, and I will be really intrigued to see what a Shockadin can do in a caster heavy comp.
I really can't go into the specifics of the system we are testing, but I can say that provided players use a resonable minimum level of resilience; they will see no negative effects. Resilience is not changing, we are not changing the game, the system will not suddently go back to the drain based gameplay due to this one small (proposed) change. I can guarantee that. That would not be what I want.
We will post more updates when we are ready, and (preferably calm, non dooms-day) feedback is welcomed.

Re: SWP items
We are impatient to know what's the way you choose. ;)
However, as I already said, you don't need to get SWP gears to play well shockadin, mine (S2) has no problem to survive and get some kills on battlegrounds. That's exactly the same with my S2 moonkin.
Xaru told us that he needs SWP gears which is totally wrong. You should try to play with some low gears Xaru, I'm sure you aren't bad and you'll see how it isn't needed to be full SWP.

If the impact is as low as you claim it is, why is this feature needed?Exsurgo wrote:I can personally guarantee you Xaru that the system will not break the Shockadin spec. No one on 493 resi will get 1 shooted by a paladin, even with the shocka macro+berserk
Blizzard didn't had it, and in wow you're meant to roll what you want and how you want, this feature will still allow it but with a penalty, so it's forcing you to change in other words.
Smolderforge is awesome for being a 2.4.3 server, without costum stuff, not a "2.4.4" that creates it's own rules.
I think there are things Smolderforge could improve, instead of this feature, I would suggest using the available resources on fixing bugs, that would appeal for old players to return and would maintain to the new ones that used to play during tbc retail.
Re: SWP items
Bug fixing/+ new features will always be our number one priority, but do remember we can only push so many fixes out in one patch. We do not have a test realm and therefore cramming too many changes into one patch can cause unforseen consequences (I learned that from the last patch).
We have a lot of fixes and new features on the close horizon.

How will it efect hunters? I use 2/3 swp items maybe 4 by a long shoot + Thor'idal that is a must have?Exsurgo wrote:I can personally guarantee you Xaru that the system will not break the Shockadin spec. Re: SWP items
Shockadin isn't initially a burst spec, thus it's "normal" if a shockadin doesn't three shot you, with all his buffs even if you aren't resi capped.Otaku wrote: If the impact is as low as you claim it is, why is this feature needed?

There are no SWP items which are initially for shockadins and that's b/c it's not a PvE spec, as SWP items are for PvE.
He already answered. ;)Gandraman wrote:How will it efect hunters? I use 2/3 swp items maybe 4 by a long shoot + Thor'idal that is a must have?Exsurgo wrote:you will still be able to use more pve items than pvp. This is not the end of pve gear in pvp.
