Re: Separate Transmog Vendor;

Like several people have already commented, I haven't made a lot of gear obtainable any easier due to the community's love for transmog and the rarity it gives players by taking a long time to farm/obtain. Specially speaking, the level 60 PvP gear sets. Many players want me to remove the cost on these items, or lower them, but as I have found, many people spend much time earning this gear and it makes their time well-spent and their transmog more rare due to their time commitment. This is something I wouldn't want to take away.

I also opened Naxxramas to allow players to farm gear in there once I deemed it was safe and unlikely to crash the server due to buggy scripts. So I am all for making it possible for players to obtain most gear pieces through work, raiding, etc.

@Dntryme: Sure they may be a costly, but would you really enjoy handling tons and tons of emails with people wanting you to manually handle $1 payments, which by the time the fees are taken out is around 0.20 cents? I mean, sure, but I'd rather spend my time doing something more productive than that. Additionally I price them around the same typical SF price range to attempt to prevent too many people for donating for them and losing their rarity. For what it's worth, a lot of gear sets I bundle and charge significantly less for than I would a single item. By donating for a single item, you end up usually paying for the service fee more than what the item is worth.

The "popular transmog item" donation list shouldn't exist. People put a shitload of effort into getting their transmog gear, but some instances are bugged and not even attemptable, so your solution is to make them pay $5-$20 for the things they could have easily earned with a little effort? Btw the last boss in BM heroic does NOT drop the Demonfang Ritual Helm, might as well add that. I ran the instance a little over 20 times and he dropped the same two things every time.

You guys don't have jobs or something? 5-20$ is nothinggg, especially if you want some cool transmog that not a lot of people have. This isn't a charity after all..

Most of the old world content is broken and incomplete. We know that. It has always been that way. We've made it very clear multiple times we are not going to devote time or resources to fixing old content, else we may as well open a Pre-TBC server instead. So yes, we allow people to donate for it because we're not going to fix it and people still want it. Works for them, works for us.

Personally, the sets I'm wearing are from the time I invest and not from some cash I spend, that's the most important thing, it's like a reward of a spent time.

Honestly, what's the point to get easily farmable items, from a donation ? Does it feel good to be a patsy ?
Why not buying titles for 50$, it's also nothing with 40k/y ?

Ay man I dig it, I have transmog gear I had to put a grind in for. But I'm glad I'm able to donate for a lot of these items, I don't have the time or the willpower to farm that stuff anymore

That's a great excuse and all but what about the stuff from BC you can't attain? then you say it's a "fun" server so you don't have to dedicate time to random dungeons, but if we continue that logic then why fix anything, keep the server "fun" (this is an exaggeration, just so the flamers are aware). I don't mean to sound like an asshole (though I'm sure I do) but it's bullshit that I paid same amount for one piece of gear (from BC) that I paid for unlimited access to s4 and SWP. And that piece of gear would have been just a few organized dungeon runs and not cost me a single dollar. I'm not complaining and it's in the past but it's just a dumb solution to the problem. Why not make a vendor with the stuff from BC that you can't attain for free? Or even do what AT does and offer transmog specifics as rewards for something. And by something I don't mean donation.. If you can add these items to characters for money then you can put them in a vendor for lots of badges or lots of honor or lots of marks or anything.

That would be a real idea, unaccessible items for a huge amount of BoJs.

Why would they take the time to fix and script vanilla instances? This is a burning crusade server, spending that much time on an ancient patch would be useless time spent. Especially when there are people that are willing to pay money for instant gratification.. Like myself. I'm not gonna roleplay and spend 4 hours farming one item when I can donate for it. It's a business. I get my item, they get their money. I don't see how this turned into a QQ thread about people donating for gear.

They can't handle it anyway. Hen + Exsurgo don't have the knowledge and the time to rescript all instances.
