Philosophing about S4 on TBC realm

Eh.. well. That "l2p issue" argument is just weak... We could argue all day long about what difference does it make to fight S4 teams in S2/S3 (and i think if you were forced to give up your donor gear you'd change your mind soon enough :P) But this is NOT the point and i'm saying this for like 4th time now: this is a freaking game! People want to play the game and get the items. To have them. Not just becos they give 500 more HP.
And having to pay for it is just sad....
This is the only server i've ever seen that has 2k rating required for S4. And i've seen a few servers in my day. No matter what their size is, 90% of them just have the original requirements set by blizzard (or something else that doesn't make it impossible to get them though).
If you say everyone can reach the unnaturally high rating to get them, then think again.
This notion is just ridiculous, dude. Even if everyone in here suddenly became a prodigy only a handful of people would be able to have that required rating. There's just too few people on this server...

Anyways what i wanted to do was to give this idea to Henry for him to consider. And i accomplished that.
So moderators please feel free to lock this topic as I do not see anything constructive coming from it being left active.

As a clother, I feel the difference from s2/s3 to s4 melee-ers (enspecially warriors) to be quite substantial.

people who are not that skilled (perhaps don't intend to play arena at all)
but they just want these shiny items.

this is why u can donate , so they dont have to play arena for it, its a secondary option.
also if u dont play competetive arena u wont get 1750 rating , let alone enough arena points to buy 1 part of s4.

Also i REALLY believe that if you made it possible to get S4 the normal way it would encourage many more people to play rated arena..

it would also encourage more wintraders , just farm some rating near the end of a season . get some points.delete the team. and no one would ever find out.

while i do agree with u that there needs to be a additonal option to get s4 obtainable . i do not think this is the right way.

Get S3 from Honor and don't complain about 15 resil and 60 spell dmg and some stam.
I can even show you with screenshots that the difference isn't that big as people whine.

We don't need to think of new ways of getting S4.
Just play the game the way it was meant to be played. Simplest, best solution.
You really think everyone would start wintrading like crazy if it was lowered? I think they would start playing mainly. Even if it encouraged a few fools to do so- if they can't handle a few wintraders then maybe they shouldn't run a WoW server..
The population here is so small that spotting an obviously trash player who has S4 gears without ever being seen in arena should be pretty easy. Dunno really what say about this.

Anyway i find it funny how the people who say "S4 makes no difference" are always donors.
They would be the first to QQ if they were forced to play in S2/3. And i remind you i'm a donor myself :P

P.S.: By the way you could always just try lowering it and see what happens. Experiment a little.
And if the server gets "plagued by an onslaught of evil wintraders" like you predict you can raise it back up. But you're not even trying. After so many people asked for it. And that's what makes me question your motives and your priorities.

Just because he doesn't fulfill your desires it doesn't make it a bad choice. I'm sorry to break it for you, but this server isn't run to solely accomodate iran (and irish) players.

Wait what? Our GM team can't handle wintraders? Is that what you are trying to say here?
Because that's a false statement I have seen a lot of wintraders getting banned if they get reported. Also almost every team in 3 vs. 3 is wintrading hence why there are no arena rewards for them. The wintraders in 3 vs. 3 usually get banned as well.

So you complain about donor gear while you got it yourself. Reminds me of Lolzeroxl. You could easily equip s4 and then equip s3 with exact the same gems / enchants and then you will see that the difference isn't big at all: ±15 resil, ±50 - 60 spell dmg and some stam. If you complain about that you then you still have to learn a lot about this game.

Why should Henhouse lower the donation prices? It's the only thing that keeps the server running. Next to the donation for transfers, renames and mounts but that's less then the donations for S4. It's ONLY $5 United States Dollar that is fair enough if you compare it with other private servers where you have to donate like $20 for full S4
