It really does, though. You don't notice it's benefit, but it definitely prevents a lot of malicious stuff from happening nowadays.

An arbitrary time of 1-2 hours on 3v3 solo queue wouldn't really make much of a difference. Someone won't get better at the game within that amount of time.

It's not so much them learning how to play, so much as getting them to queue BGs to at least get a feel for the game instead of jumping straight into arenas where they will literally have no chance of winning.

I understand the intent should not be to dissuade them from playing Solo3s. Trust me, I understand that. But it isn't fair to the players they have to play with when it turns out to be an instant loss because they have a deadweight who keyboard turns and clicks every ability and doesn't know how to position themselves, etc.

Plus, 15 minutes is roughly the time it takes to get your character set up and geared and barred so it doesn't really do anything, since you can't queue naked or without talents etc., and I'm not saying this just for me, I only log on to do solo 3s every other day or so at this point since I've lost the motivation to nonstop farm, and it's usually not for long periods. I'm just looking at it from the perspective of someone who's encountered it far too much with far too many different individuals and it's quite frustrating.

Quick note, I'm not even sure how long the 15 minutes restriction has been in place, since I've literally never encountered it until a few days ago because a friend told me about it and I didnt actually believe them xD despite making countless alts over the past few months, just to make a point

The 15 minute wait has been in since December 2014.

The frustrations you have are well-heard and I understand the bracket can be frustrating. But I don't really think barring/vetting a bunch of players will necessarily improve it. The queue is pretty random, which is the primary reason it's making your experience unfun. You must play it a lot which has caused every inconvenience to become extremely annoying.

There are some things I want to do to prevent AFK/leave abuse, but simply only letting better players play isn't really do-able. MMR would be cool but I'm still worried it would hurt the bracket. Perhaps if we had a very relaxed matchmaker that tried to place based on rating, but gave up quickly if it didn't find a good match. That's how our 2v2 matchmaker works now anyway.

Any form of matchmaker that you implement would simply need to spread out the mmr amongst teams evenly, and that's the main point I wanted to push in the other thread, just something to make it so both teams have as even a playing field as possible. It would also be a good idea for at peak time, when 12+ dps are queue'd waiting for a healer to perhaps have it sort them at that point, before the queue popped if possible.

Yeah that's kind of where I'm going with that
