Arena matches will now end if they extend past 25 minutes. The winning team will be determined by the total amount of damage done for that team. This is based off tournament logic seen from Blizzard tournaments. After witnessing an arena match over 100 minutes today at a total stalemate between a Druid and Warlock, it became clear this is needed.

Should be a tie, during tournaments someone has to win. But during casual SF games... Imagine if you are 90-0 and the 25 minutes pass and you get a loss without losing its gay.

Re: Why you did this?
^ It might lead to teams just running around to survive when they face a team they can't beat (or even some grotesque snipping just to make teams lose 25 minutes).
But getting a loss while not even losing is obviously harsh.

Re: Why you did this?
that is true, but otherwise its not fair some teams cant outdmg others.. i mean even if one of the teams had more dmg after the 25 min it doesnt mean it was closer to win.Apuclevercow wrote:^ It might lead to teams just running around to survive when they face a team they can't beat (or even some grotesque snipping just to make teams lose 25 minutes).

As Awoth quoted, the change is completely reasonable.maikal wrote:Hi, Henhouse whyvu add this trash : arena matches more than 25 mins blablalabla ... i was playing shaman amd druid vs ld, tell me how the fuq to beat this ld when u did this trash?
Plus, Next time try being more polite. Your terrible grammar just makes it even harder to understand your problem. And you didn't even go into detail, nor did you give any actual, rational explanation. Constructive criticism > Trashtalk.

Re: Why you did this?
This dmg condition for the win is useful to remove the ability to deny a win by just running out of LoS.ZatYo wrote:that is true, but otherwise its not fair some teams cant outdmg others.. i mean even if one of the teams had more dmg after the 25 min it doesnt mean it was closer to win.
However, not to neglect these teams who can't overdamage their opponents while still trying to win, we can imagine something like that:
Damages of the team which has got the most = A
Damages of the team which has got the less = B
n is a coefficient
if B>n*A
then Tie
else Team which has got most of the damages wins.

Re: Why you did this?
Why did I do it? This:

Someone had to spend almost 3 hours playing against a Druid who did not want to lose either.
I am open to the idea of changing it to some sort of tie, but exactly like the others mentioned: it makes me wonder if people would intentionally try to abuse that. We have coordinated wintrading happen almost every season. Imagine two of the highest teams face each other accidentally... they could in theory just stall for 25 minutes... Rated arena should have something to lose. The alternative is to punish both teams with a loss.

Re: Why you did this?
The way it works right now is rly bad coz most of such 25+ minutes arenas are usually includes warlocks (ld mostly) and every such arena ends in warlock win allways coz warlock can simply dot two targets constantly and he'll be allways top damage. But we definately need some time cap coz even i already met some retarded hunter-druid who was running away from my warlock for 25 minutes around one single pillar on Nagrand arena (i'm not even kidding, they didn't even switched pillar even once). All they did was place slowing trap and los from warlock, absolutely nothing else. most of the time i couldn't even dot them coz slow+los constantly. They were simply dodging fight, not even waiting for cds or doing any damage or something. And after the game hunter was mad and said that on retaild he was dodging fight vs ld for 4+ hours until ld left. So we definatelly need some system to end arena earlier. I would suggest to increase time to at least 40+ mins (because top teams can have quite long matches for sure) and maybe arena should be over as a draw after that time (when no rate or w/l stat changed). But the timer should be increased for sure, 25 mins is rly not enough for TBC.
ps: all tournaments was played only as 3v3 so those rules wasn't adapted for 2v2.
