300x200 ATLEAST if something. 240x240 is a BOX. 300 width sounds pretty cool. Working with small signatures in photoshop is annoying.

When we switched to these forums from IPB we decided we wanted to keep them in-line with the retail forums. Meaning, firstly, no signatures with images. I know a lot of boards that allow signatures and they create a lot of scrolling and distraction in threads. Plus people make huge ones sometimes, and I know we can remove it, but then more people will, or put up another one, etc, etc.

Custom avatars would have to fit the 65x65 that these are so that's small to begin with and only the actual WoW ones really fit. And yeah, it's getting a little annoying with people choosing class/races that don't exist to get a black image instead.

I mean, I maybe could look into a little album of still, non-animated pictures for donors that are different than the character ones, but I don't know. It's just forums.

Blizzard forums is pretty retarded and is poorly moderated, why would you wanna even copy it? not everything has to be "Blizzard" like

As for scrolling, i don't know about IPB but with vbulliten you can make it so a signature only appears once per thread, as for the big signatures, you can make it so you get a 240x300 box for example to work with, once again that's with vbulletin, i have no idea what your limits are with IBF.

As for "poorly moderated" I don't see how that affects the look and feel to the forums O_O. When we voted on a new forum a long time ago everyone wanted to move to this one, and we did. I don't think I'll ever move us away. VBulletin is OK, I've used it a little bit but I don't want to spent $150 some dollars on it. I mean I *can* get a free version, but they can find out and make me close the forums, etc. PHPBB is simple and free. It doesn't have perfect features like Invision Power Board did, but it gets the job done pretty well.
