3v3... Wat?
3v3... Wat?
So, as I'm sure most of you know, the 3v3 bracket is basically DEAD, with no one playing. And, I don't know about you guys, but I prefer 3's over 2's, just because it's not the ezmode lolhealer loldps comps, you actually need some sort of coordination and communication to esxcel in it. So me and a few guildies(Zatyo, and Failspec) were talking about how to get people to play 3v3 next season(We feel it's too late in the season already to do this) but we'd need some help from the staff members of Smolderforge to do it. We were thinking we could do maybe a bi-weekly or once a month 3v3 tournament, and only the top 5(or 3) rated teams can participate, of course there would be prizes but we'll leave that up to you GMs! So what do you think, 3v3 Tournaments once and while, just to add a little spice to the current 2v2 bracket grind?
Re: 3v3... Wat?
GM Tournaments are very hard to do from what I understand. The 1v1 took may hours because everything has to be done by hand. I'm not 100% sure why there's not a lot of 3v3 teams, I would have to say simply because of the lack of online people. I'm assuming that when and if we ever can get Optic Fiber in the near future with about 500 people on Smolderforge, that it would be possible for enough people to play 3v3.
Now, when you create an arena team it looks like your accepting a quest right? Sadly your not and your simply talking to an arena petition master. It's possible for me to program 2v2 creation to return some kind of error, but how is that very fair to people that want to play 2v2?

Re: 3v3... Wat?
Well like I said, the 3v3 didn't have to be everlasting, our first idea was a bi-weekly tournament, and maybe just for that one period of time you could disable 2v2, and after the tournament, put it back up. Like, disable 2's for a few days, say 3 days, then tell everyone a tournament is in progress for 3v3, they queue for 3's and battle it out for those 3 days, and after that you enable 2v2 again. And so on so forth, at the end of the season you could host a "finale" and once again disable 2's, and the top rated 3v3 team at the end of the finale gets the rewardHenhouse wrote:It's possible for me to program 2v2 creation to return some kind of error, but how is that very fair to people that want to play 2v2?
Or even do it like you do with the BG exchange, have 2's up for a bit, then have 3's, and exchange the two. Though I'm sure that'd be a bit complicated.. just a suggestion though :P
Edit: Also, you GMs wouldn't necessarily host the event, just make sure that the people queue for 3v3, so the tournament/event wouldn't have to be so hard on you guys, in fact all you would need to do is allow the players to queue 3v3, and ofc, watch for wintraders during that time
Re: 3v3... Wat?
Like I said, you either can create any arena team or none. I cannot have NPCs switch out, any NPC that is flagged as an arena team petitions master will have all team creations available to do. If I disabled it, if I figure out a way, it would be a core edit. When that's edited you have to reboot and switch the program files up with the other ones.
Making a 3v3 tournament for a few days could confuse the arena season in progress by disabling 2v2.
