Blizzard introduced it everywhere, open world, arenas, battlegrounds, so its good as it is on retail.

Because it's fun to have Custom Transmog Gear. Regardless what happens the SWP gear would be used anyways does it matters if it's in disguise for arena? You can't tell your opponent to change his gear anyways, you're busy fighting the game. It won't make a difference in the end result of the game only that you didn't expect him to wear certained gearpieces that shouldn't affect you, if you're a good player.

Custom Transmogrification is available on retail and I don't think it affects arena there, so why should it here? (there is also way more gear available on retail so I don't see the problem really...) It's a neat little feature that would be highly appreciated especially by the people that have full gear already. It also has some restrictions and a few rules if you are interested read them below:

There is a possibility to inspect players in the mall, only I'm not sure if it's displaying the SWP stats or the stats of the fun item (if transmogged).

If it becomes expensive then you know that person is probably a donator rolling SWP gear or just only allow the PvP sets to be transmogged?
I get really excited when a game allows players to customize their look.

I believe this will bring lots of new players to the serv and giving it something new after all these years.
Ive been here for 3 years and the pvp system has gotten better and better. but the layout, the bg's and arena needs a lift as its a funserv aswell. I returned to retail with great expectations for the same reason, transmog.

I definitely want to add it. While I'm concerned about the display bug that we're going to have to accept with this transmog (also the fact GMs will see the incorrect item too), I'm more wondering how to properly implement this into the game, as well as make it a donation option. Maybe people can throw out simple ideas and prices, but I need to think of something that is truly good and implement it. Once it's implemented it's hard to change, so getting it right the first time is important.
