I sent out several GM invitations last night since people want to see more GMs come in. As for developing. I'm not sure if you were offering your services but I can say, these cores are written in C++, not C# which has a bit of a difference. Also, if you're learning C# it would probably still take you a long time to grasp the complexity of the core for WoW. It's 1.2 million lines of code in its entirety for 2.4.3.jetlife wrote:Oh I do! I'm learning C# as we speak, but I'm trying to point out is that it doesn't seem like there is much effort to find any. There are no dev apps at all. The GM app thread is pretty active, although I hardly see any new GMs active on the forums, neither in-game which causes me to believe that either the applicants are shit or there is no desire to hire any new GMs. This is one of the only TBC fun servers around, and I believe it could grow greatly but I see a lot of disappointment from other players in LFG. I would like that to change.Henhouse wrote:Developers don't grow on trees. Have you noticed? It's not easy to just find someone who has very knowledgeable programming experience, experience in the WoW private server community, and with the cores, AND wants to dedicate his or her time to writing fixes for a server community and going through the many hours of trial and error.jetlife wrote:Ah right! GMs do not act publicly I forgot, that must be why people can spam advertisements for hours! I must of had a memory lapse for a moment. Also, what about devs? When's the last time a noticeable bug has been fixed?
I don't think many people understand just how long, tedious and painstaking programming really is.

Haha I'm not. Working 2 jobs right now to pay for the rest of my tuition so I hardly have time for anything. Although I am going to talk to my friend that is well-versed in core development. What type of core is Smolder's based off of? He's worked with trinity, mangos, shitty arcmu, and I think another but it's been too long.

Trinity is the parent, and it's still basically Trinity, but called OregonCore because it continued Trinity 2.4.3 when they dropped 2.4.3 support. We're planning in the future switching to Skyfire_one which is literally, OregonCore just taken over by Skyfire to be developed even further since the Oregon project is nearing its end.
We still are keeping our eyes on the HellGround core which was shared with us for purposed to be able to use, which is based off TrinityCore 2.4.3 without the Oregon. It's highly advanced in ways, and ancient in others. We've done testing and they core is REALLY messed up in ways so far it really only works and compiles well for themselves. Myself and everyone trying to help them have no avail to get it working on Linux and such. There's also massive amounts of C++ compile warnings and enough to scare me off honestly.

Aaaahhhh! I forgot about the OregonCore! I will definitely try and get a hold of him because he worked with OC but he sometimes had to visit the forums to fix some things, I'm guessing the forums are no longer available or active?Henhouse wrote:Trinity is the parent, and it's still basically Trinity, but called OregonCore because it continued Trinity 2.4.3 when they dropped 2.4.3 support. They're still there. We just aren't too active on it (us devs I mean).jetlife wrote:Aaaahhhh! I forgot about the OregonCore!
